The new labor code of Togo voted in December 2020, governs the labor relations between workers and employers in Togo, as well as between the latter and trainees or apprentices, excluding permanent employees of the Public Service unless otherwise provided.

Introduction

The provisions of this code also apply to labor relations between a worker and any employer enjoying diplomatic or consular immunity, subject to contrary legal provisions.
 
Discrimination and forced labor are prohibited and the code takes precedence over contracts and conventions. Unless they are more favorable to the worker, the clauses of any employment contract, as well as collective agreements, must comply with this code.
