The Togolese Free Zone was created by Law N ° 89-14 of September 18, 1989.
It constitutes a favorable framework for export-oriented activities:
agriculture, industry and services that use local labor.
It is also a liberal framework guaranteeing the best conditions for
competitiveness and simplifying formalities for investors.
Since its birth, it has benefited from the decisive support of organizations
cooperation agencies such as UNDP, UNIDO, OPIC and USAID.

Managed since 1994 by the Société d'Administration de la
Free Zone (SAZOF), the free zone, is, from
of June 2019, administered by the Promotion Agency
of Investments and the Free Zone (API-ZF).
API-ZF is, in accordance with Law No. 2019-005 of
June 17, 2019 on the Code of investments in the Republic
Togolese, created for the administration of the code of
investments and the status of the free zone.

The Togo Free Zone currently has,
74 active companies and 25 companies
being installed, distributed in
various sectors: food, agro-food,
plastic, wood & construction, pharmaceutical,
clothing & synthetic hair,
metal, horticulture, cosmetics and services.

The products of the free zone are mainly
exported to ECOWAS countries,
from Central Africa and Europe. With Togo's eligibility
at the AGOA and the upcoming arrival of the AfCFTA,
the export market for Togolese companies
is more than ever unlimited and can benefit
advantages in the US market.
